The Advantages of Modul Construction
Modular construction is a lightweight and cost-efficient form of building. A few of the main advantages include:
1. Modul construction saves time
Modul constructions are built remotely, which means construction time and labour costs are kept to a minimum and results in a time saving of up to 60 per cent compared to traditional construction.
2. Less wastage and better for the environment
Solid concrete foundations are required during the construction of a conventional building. In contrast, modular buildings are lightweight and can often be placed on simple concrete blocks, meaning there is minimal impact on the land. In addition, with modul construction, building debris and wastage are kept to a minimum due to the efficient use of materials during the build process.
3. No weather delays
Modul containers are pre-built and shipped to a location for assembly, eliminating time-consuming weather delays during construction. In many cases, this factory environment also leads to a higher quality of the product, as the production processes and finishes can be closely monitored and controlled. The containers are fully fitted with your choice of flooring, plumbing, electrical connections, cabinets, and appliances, saving labour time on delivery.
4. No storage space is required on site.
Traditional constructions require building materials to be stored on site, which can lead to space, safety, and clutter issues. It is not the case with prefabricated construction, as the build is done remotely.
5. Energy saving
Prefabric buildings are specifically designed and built to be energy efficient. The various components used during the construction adhere to strict guidelines, and all walls, ceilings and floors are insulated and airtight, which results in substantial long-term savings on heating, cooling and energy costs.
